Saved by grace through faith!
I had this lovely blog post about my day and how I saw God. It was really sweet.
I went to edit it in my saved drafts and couldn't find it. I asked God to give me the words again.
Then I got a camp song stuck in my head from our summer bible camp counselors at our church VBS. It was called saved by grace through faith.
God's will, God's words ......here we go.
Let's look at Ephesians 2:8-9 "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you cant take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it". Maybe some people don't feel worthy of God's love. Maybe some people think you have to earn it. Or do enough good deeds to "get in" to heaven.
According to the bible, that's not true! All we have to do is believe. Simply amazing.
Then why bother to do good deeds you might ask? God has made such profound changes in me, I want that for other people. I desperately want others to feel this deep sense of love and joy.
I love God so much, I want to hear those words, "well done my good and faithful servant". I want my life to align with God's plan so I don't miss out on the abundant life God promises for me.
Relying on God through my brokenness strengthens my faith. Let me tell you, I'm broken all the time!
Faith is not for perfect people. Jesus is for ANYONE who needs to be freed from sin and shame. Anyone who is broken, who carry burdens.
