Lay Your Burdens Down
I saw a saying on Facebook just now that read, "Worry is a conversation you have with yourself about things you can't change, prayer is a conversation with God about things you can change."
Read that again.
Sometimes, I get stuck in the rut of worry. I worry that I'm not enough. I worry about my long to do list, I worry about money, I worry about my kids, I worry I'm clinging too tight to my relationships. I worry about everything and nothing all the same time. Even though worry doesn't ever change a thing.
We are called to give our worries to God, that is the easy part. The hard part is letting go of the worry after God has taken it.
Living a life without worry takes practice and it takes time. After you pray, remind yourself, God has this. Tomorrow will come, no matter what. God already knows how to get you through it, and God will.
I believe God's idea of abundant life, which he promises us, includes intentionally letting go of our worries. I invite you to go today, knowing God already has all your troubles figured out and the plans he has in store for you are better than you could ever imagine! "First, seek the kingdom of God, and all these things will be given to you as well." Amen!
