Kindness is Contagious

Yesterday I found a note from my 7 year old. It said, "I love you Mom! You are the best Mom ever! Love Aubrey."


2 things resonated with me. 1. My daughter has inherited my over use of exclamation points! I love them! And 2. Kindness is contagious.


Last year my friend and I hosted a women's retreat at our church where we gave everyone a small stack of post it notes to leave random notes for people. I started doing it. I leave them at restaurants, on my coworkers desk, & on my children's school folders to name a few.


Not only does this feel good to me, my children have noticed. And it matters. A little piece of paper with a few kind words...those are the kinds of things, we as humans, remember. My 9 year old does not remove them from her folder. I just stack them on top of each other. It means something to her.


And those words given to me by my sweet daughter, mean the world to me.
